Bike to School Day

Olde Creek Elementary is participating in Bike to School Day!

Join children and adults across the nation to celebrate the benefits of bicycling and walking.

Bike to school day is Wednesday, May 8th, 2019.

Let’s make this year the biggest one yet! We ask that any child who wants to participate, please register by Friday May 1st. The first 100 kids who register will get a Bike to School Day T-shirt (while supplies last) so act fast! Bike to School day is open to all Olde Creek Students (K-6), we ask parents to accompany all K-1st grade students or inexperienced riders.

There are 3 ways for students to register this year: 1) Fill in the attached form and return to school by May 1. 2) Go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4bafa928a75-bike7 to register on our Sign up Genius site, or 3) Come to the Bike Rodeo, Sunday April 28th from 4-6 at Olde Creek.

What is a bike train? In a bike train, an adult will ride along with their child or children and on their route to school, they will pick up additional riders along the way. Eventually, more and more students join thus creating a “bike train.” We will have 3 bike trains again this year, come to the bike rodeo to learn more.

We need parent volunteers again, to ride with students, to lead bike trains in the morning and afternoon, and to help us host the welcome party when students arrive in the morning. Go to http://www.signupgenius.com/go/10c0e4bafa928a75-bike6 to learn more and sign up. Questions? Please contact us at thavaradhara@yahoo.com or essigmw@gmail.com.
